Kissing the Blarney Stone

Hi everyone!
Today the students went to Blarney Castle and kissed the stone. They had to bend backward over a ledge to reach a part of the castle's wall which is marked as the Blarney Stone. They also went to a festival and did the rides and saw some animals. There was a kid bounce and Jodi and the delegation manager bounced around - the kids all got a kick out of that!
I had asked about some of the food and got this reply: We had a really yummy dessert made of apples and custard. It's been meat, taters, and veggies every meal basically....
They've already packed so much in for the short amount of time they've been gone! We can all see why they'll be so exhausted when they return!! I'll have to remember next week to ask how the laundry is going? HA!HA!HA!

  1. Tori said she wanted to "kiss the Blarney stone" so she could talk me into things. I hope she will call me and give it a try. I can't believe that I miss her constant talking, but I do. It is so quite here with out her; although Alexandra is enjoying being an only child for awhile. The photos are a big help for me. I know that the kids are having a good time, but it is nice to be able to pick my child out of the group and see her with a smile on her face. It makes her absence a little easier to take.
Thanks for running the blog and keeping us posted on the happenings!!

  2. I am so thrilled to be getting the photos and the comments you are putting in and I also would like to thank all those involved. I got to see Paul in a few photos and that helps. Paula did they say how the weather has been? I cant wait for the next posting. I hope that others will take advantage of this blog. I beat I check this at least 10 times a day looking for more photos and entries. Is the other delegation aware of this site? Both my children are gone and it is quiet... too quiet. I am sure I speak for all when I say this is hard but having this here is helping. Thanks again!

  3. I just heard from Colin for the FIRST TIME! I knew he must have been busy and having so much fun that he did not feel the need to call, but boy was I relieved to hear his voice today! I must say, he was SOOOOO happy that it made all of my concerns evaporate. He spoke of the locals, kissing the Blarney Stone, the good food, animals and more and the excitement I heard in his voice made me know that he had already been through something life changing...he was on a bus traveling and I could hear a lot of laughter and joking too. He was hoping to get some sleep on the ride but it sounded like the buzz of many happy travelers in the background. He thought they would be getting a chance to dine, shop and perhaps do some laundry tonight...I never thought I would hear him excited about doing laundry, but he thought it was time! Ha! He also spoke of it being a bit cooler and rainy...Thanks for keeping the blog so current..it has been wonderful to tune in every day!----Becky Hendershott
