The First Calls/Texts!!

Hi everyone!
First, let me apologize. It looks like I have forgotten to bring my phone tree with me to my mom's in Cincinnati! We'll be home Sunday afternoon! SORRY!

Okay, on to the fun stuff: heard from Isabelle and Logan both today. The kids visited Bunratty Castle and Park yesterday - everyone was VERY TIRED (her emphasis!). They also checked out the Moher Cliffs and some caves. It was pitch black in the caves at times today. They took a bus ride and everyone was so tired, they were sleeping on each other's shoulders, laps, etc. Isabelle said it was a pretty funny sight to see. Apparently, Jodi was the only one to be searched at the airport....she had too much stuff in her carry on!!!

No one is homesick from our delegation yet.....there is a total of 34 from both delegations (ours, Findlay and Michigan). Isabelle said everyone is getting along very well and having a wonderful time! She said Ireland is even greener than she had anticipated (our family is from Northern Ireland, so it's been a dream to visit there!).

All in all, everyone is in good spirits and doing well. Tired, tired, tired....but they will be for a few more days....

  1. Heard from Sarah today also. She echoed pretty much what Isabelle & Logan said. And yes they were on the bus ride quite awhile so sleep was definately a winner among the kids. Sarah said she is still a little tired but not too bad. Said the food has been pretty good too.

She liked the castle. "It was ancient", was the quote. It even had a dungeon but they couldn't go down, I think she said because the steps weren't in good enough condition but I'm not sure.

And speaking of steps, apparently there are 173 steps up into the cliffs.

Had some light rain but nothing to get in the way of their fun.

And yes everyone is getting along. Sarah is enjoying her current roommates & her past ones too.

    No homesickness either!

Sarah used her Cellhire cell phone to call home & text her Dad so for those who rented one but haven't heard from your child yet...They work great & there shouldn't be any problems calling home from across the pond.

  2. Gabi called and said things are good, very tired. The cows and horses in the front yards are something she thought was pretty cool sight to see. Too many mushrooms in the food :( She has taken many pictures, we can't wait to see.

  3. This is a great site for us. Looks like the kids are having a great time. If anyone can pass a message to Paul Stevens tell him to call his mother. lol
